I am a woman who wears many hats: wife, friend, knitter, stepmom, blogger, bandwife, singer, dogmom, yogi, chief cooknbottlewasher...you get the picture. Problem is, I just have this one itty-bitty pointy head on which to balance all those hats. The last several days have been a trainwreck of conflicting hats, all jostling for position on said pointy little head. Blogging obviously got knocked off and shoved in a corner while the biggies (wife, friend, bandwife, chief c&b) perched precariously, hanging off my ears when necessary.
I haven't done much knitting this past week. I do have some FOs which I PROMISE I will post on Friday. Last Friday, my photographer got home from work early, so we dashed out to the yard to get some pics. After that, he said the magic words, "Let's go out to dinner", so the pics didn't get posted, but I did get some good pub grub and a nice cold Blue Moon and some quality time with that other special person who wears a whole lotta hats (husband, father, band member x2, dogdad, friend, son, brother, IT testing genius, photographer).
The weekend was a literal blur of bluegrass and barbecue - Saturday...Sunday...AND Monday. I'm still going through pictures but will post some soon. There was road time which meant knitting time, and I actually finished a small project over a weekend when it really didn't feel like I knit much at all. And this week, we're happily eating stir-fried chicken, brown rice and veggies, trying to recover from barbecue overload.
Yesterday, I was laid low by another weather-related migraine but, since it's cool and beautiful today, the windows are open, the cool breeze is blowing through, and I'm catching up on five days of household chores and laundry. Will get back on the blogging wagon tomorrow.
In the meantime, knit happy!
When you have bluegrass and barbecue you have it all! Sounds wonderful. May the cool breezes flow and may you stay well.
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteOoooooooooooo...cool breezes you say? Could you send some my way. It's still summer here.
Laurie - I had to take an Imitrex yesterday because of a migraine. I'm so sorry that you get them.
ReplyDeleteBut the cool breezes are here, at least for a few days - we'll have to tell Jym Ganall to keep fall here!

You are one very busy lady....oh, but the fun!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better!
Oh, I am so sorry 'bout your migraine. I recently survived one of those an' I had reached a point where I wasn't sure if that was a particularly good thing. Those are awful. Do get well soon. You might try rubbing Vick's Vaporub on the bottoms of your feet, then putting socks on to sleep in. Sometimes, it helps, 'specially if you prop your feet higher than your head. Somethin' 'bout the way the blood rushes back to your brain or somethin'. Anyway, it works for me, summa' the time. Get better.
ReplyDeleteSounds to me like you need to knit yourself an extra head. Certainly, you need it to balance summa' those hats, at least.
An' now, I hafta' ask you what is pro'lly a really dumb question. What are FO's? I'm so bad at acronyms. Is that spelled correctly? haha

By the way, I agree with whoever said you should write a book. I love your descriptive way of writing.

A blur of bluegrass and barbeque. That sounds like a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteMany hats and one pointy head. I SO hear ya!
ReplyDeleteWe all prioritize, and you'll see a sudden drop in volume on my blog! I'll be spending the next 7 weeks with my "grand".
ReplyDeleteThe knitting is therapy for the other "hats", YES?
Looking forward to "shawls of the month"!
I think you need to parade those hats through a blog post, I'm betting they're knitted and purty!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite magic words. I hope you enjoyed your dinner out. We had an interesting TV program here re migraine and the beneficial effect of Vit B6, B12 and folate in normal dosage amounts. Seems it is proving helpful in some cases.
ReplyDeleteMama said there would be days like this..... and how! Sorry about your trouble. It wonderful you have so many "hats"!
ReplyDeleteurgh- sorry about the migraine- maybe it's from all those hats! ;)
