Little, impossible to feel, scary...bumps...
Things are a little shaky here at Chez TyingHolesTogether. A couple weeks ago, I went in for the annual boobiesquish. A few days later, my doctor called and said they wanted to do a retake. Something about "benign calcifications" and how there are more of them than in past years so they wanted to take a closer look.
Thursday, we did the closer look. I spent half the day (what seemed like a hundred years) at the mammography center. In the midst of it all, I came down with an initially nasty but blessedly fleeting cold. They took more pictures, more squishing. In the end, they still didn't have an answer.
Tuesday morning, I go in for stereotactic needle biopsies on BOTH of the girls - I guess they like to do things together. I'm a little too old for piercings, but pierced I will be. Apparently I'll be wrapped and told to "take it easy" for a few days after, and will know the results by the end of next week. My doctor called me this morning and gave me a pep talk. I'm rallying friends wherever they may be to think "benign" when they think of me. I'm trying to distract myself with knitting.
If you have a moment, send me some Vitamin B9...
Thinking good thoughts for a positive outcome and a calm and peaceful experience for you. Knit away!
ReplyDeleteI've been down that road- had a fine needle biopsy, too, and all was well. Just some scary moments and lots of worry. I'll send comforting thoughts your way, and hope that your results have the same happy ending mine did.

Positive thoughts and prayers going your way for everything to be ok. Do keep us posted. This may warrant a trip to your LYS for distraction.
ReplyDeleteThe call we all dread :(
ReplyDeleteSending you HUGE doses of B9, good karma, and peace on the warm breezes of this autumn day - be well xo
Sending B9s from Florida too. Hugs too.
ReplyDeleteB9(hee hee) and prayers coming your way!
ReplyDeleteHUGS!!
{{{B9 coming in a steady stream your way.}}}
ReplyDeleteThe boobiesquishing is never fun, especially after a second look, and head scratching continues. The girls get a little lumpier at our age though.
Wallow some cashmere or silk against the girls, it might help you feel better.
i will be thinking of you- positive, benign associations only! :)
ReplyDeleteI'll be thinking of you and sending positive (benign) thoughts your way!
ReplyDeleteOuch Laurie! Hopefully you'll have a great report for us soon. My MIL had to do the same thing exactly, and she is just fine, it really was just calcifications, so have peace and don't borrow worries from tomorrow. Thinking positive thoughts and praying for you!
ReplyDeleteOoh, my sympathies on the double boobiequish and upcoming piercings. Sending many MANY positive vibes your way. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI'll be thinking of you and hoping for a benign report. Most of the time, they are just benign calcifications, so sending that positive juju your way.

Sending (benign) positive thoughts!! I have actually been doing that myself lately. I have a mass in my left lymphnode and have biopsy today. We are both gonna bejust fine!! Just dont get the easy way out of things!! Relax and enjoy some knitting!!
ReplyDeleteB9 thoughts form central Ontario, Canada too.
ReplyDelete****GOOD THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS****
ReplyDeleteI'm backing and looking forward to news... good news! We are all happier people when we get to knit. Surely "taking it easy" doesn't equate with no knitting... B9
ReplyDeleteHope your tests come back with some good news! My thoughts are with you.
ReplyDeleteWhen I went in for my very first mammo, I also got that call along with the follow-up procedures. They really thought bad stuff was happening, but in the end, it wasn't. I joke now that I've had enough mammos to skip them the rest of my life, but they just laugh and schedule me for an annual. After 10 years they still are skittish when I have them. Since they are, I try not to be. I'm hoping you have the same results I did.
ReplyDeletejust checking in again and sending positive thoughts your way!
ReplyDeleteoh, and i read your comment about your husband's cd release- the power going off and all. yikes. well, it made it memorable, huh?! :)
Thinking all sorts of good thoughts for you. The needle thing is scary but it's just a little prick and more often than not (I'm told) they are good results - mine were. Good thing is you'll get all that knitting done.
ReplyDeleteHope all went well. Good thoughts and prayers sent your way!
ReplyDeleteIts just the $hits testing and results take so long!
Knit on!
Sending prayers your way!!!! Knit away if that helps!!! Thanks for sharing so we can join you in prayer. Dianntha
ReplyDeleteIt does seem like the waiting time takes forever. Sending plenty of B9 and good wishes for you! :)
